Shakespeare Saturdays Sign-Up!
Scenes, Sonnets, Soliloquies and Songs

Saturday, March 5. 1:00 PM.

New York Public Library, Inwood Branch

Admission is Free! And there's no cover charge,
but there is a two book checkout minimum...

The Shakespeare Saturdays Sign-Up is for all actors - all are welcome! There are no auditions for this event. The format is similar to open mic at cabaret clubs where you just show up and say you wanna sing a song. So, on March 5th, you can show up at The Inwood Library to sign up to perform any Shakespearean scene, monologue, sonnet, etc. of your choice and see your colleagues' work too. It's a perfect opportunity to test out a new monologue in front of an audience or to practice a polished monologue before an important audition - or bring in a fun scene that you and a friend would like to perform. 6 minutes stage time is given to each performer (so you can perform 2 monologues if you like as long as they don't exceed 6 minutes). The only requirements are: 1st, it all has to be Shakespearean, and 2nd- no fight choreography (sorry).

Thanks to everyone who made our launch on January 29th such a great event! Eric Vetter of "No Name... & A BAG O' CHIPS" fame (www.nonamenyc.com) was the Guest Emcee! In attendance were some Shakespeare Saturdays alums as well as actors new to The Inwood Library location. Thank you all! It was a wonderful afternoon!

So mark the next date of March 5th and come by with your Shakespeare material. Executive Producer Donna Stearns will be at the keyboard, and Artistic Director Jason Kendall will greet you at the door so you can sign up.

Room opens 12:30 pm, Inwood Branch of the New York Public Library, 4790 Broadway
